Relating to the denial or reduction of an award otherwise payable under the Crime Victims' Compensation Act.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 957 would prohibit the Attorney General from denying or
reducing funds given to a person from the Crime Victims' Compensation Program based on that person's interactions with law enforcement at the crime
scene or a hospital, unless they find that the person subsequently refused to substantially cooperate with law enforcement.
The provisions of SB 957 do not conflict with our Liberty Principles; therefore Texas Action remains neutral.
