Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

SB 957 would prohibit the Attorney General from denying or reducing funds given to a person from the Crime Victims' Compensation Program based on that person's interactions with law enforcement at the crime scene or a hospital, unless they find that the person subsequently refused to substantially cooperate with law enforcement.

Vote Recommendation Notes

The provisions of SB 957 do not conflict with our Liberty Principles; therefore Texas Action remains neutral.
