SB 957 would prohibit the attorney general from denying or reducing funds given from the Crime Victims' Compensation Program to a person based on the person's interactions with a law enforcement agency at the crime scene or a hospital, unless the attorney general finds that the person subsequently refused to cooperate substantially with the law enforcement agency.
The provisions of SB 957 do not conflict with our liberty principles, therefore Texas Action remains neutral.
