Relating to information regarding certain noncompliance by an appraisal district in the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation records of a professional property tax appraiser serving as chief appraiser for the district.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 916 would require the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to provide a link on each biennial review report with the performance review for chief appraisers and to provide this information, including information regarding compliance efforts by the appraisal district while an individual was serving as chief appraiser, to inquiring appraisal districts seeking to fill the position of chief appraiser.
This may help appraisal districts fill an open chief appraiser position with a better qualified candidate than perhaps they may otherwise, but this does not weigh on our liberty principles either way. Texas Action remains neutral on SB 916 as no liberty principles apply.
