Relating to a required resource access assistance offer before an abortion is performed or induced.
Estimated Two-year Net Impact to General Revenue Related Funds for SB802, As Engrossed: a negative impact of ($13,622,620) through the biennium ending August 31, 2023.
SB 802 requires, among other things, that before an abortion is performed, except during an emergency, the physician who is to perform the abortion shall confirm the pregnant woman received a pre-abortion resource access assistance offer in addition to consent requirements.
SB 802 deals with what we view as a primarily social issue. Texas Action does not make vote recommendations on social issues. For this reason we remain neutral on SB 802.
