Relating to a ribbon for certain service members of the military who served in support of operations to secure this state's international border.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 793 would allow the governor or adjutant general to adopt policies and regulations relating to awarding the Texas Border Security and Support Service Ribbon. This ribbon would be awarded to a service member of the military forces in this state, another state, or the United States who served on or after July 28, 2014, was on state active duty or active duty under state authority for at least 90 consecutive days, or served in response to an emergency activation, and was honorably in support of operations under civilian authority to secure this state’s international border.
As the bill does not directly apply to our liberty principles, Texas Action remains neutral on SB 793.
