Bill Analysis

SB 741 would allow school marshals of any public or private school or public junior college to conceal carry a firearm rather than be required to keep their firearm in storage when not in use.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports SB 741 on the principle of limited government and individual liberty. Requiring school marshals to place their handguns in storage when not in use greatly endangers students should the need arise for the marshal to use their weapon. SB 741 would improve school safety at every campus with a school marshal.
