The Department of State Health Services and the Health and Human Services are required to implement this Act only if the legislature appropriates money specifically for that purpose. If the legislature does not appropriate money specifically for that purpose, the department and the commission may, but are not required to, implement the Act using other appropriations available for the purpose.
SB 73 would require the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission to establish a separate provider type for a local public health entity, including health service regional offices acting in the capacity of a local health department, in order to enroll as a provider for and reimbursement under the Medicaid program.
SB 73 would make a local public health entity, or a health service office acting in the capacity of a local public health entity in a public health region, a health care provider for purposes of Medicaid reimbursement.
