Bill Caption

Relating to funding under the transportation allotment for transporting meals and instructional materials to a student’s residence.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

SB 462 would allow a school district located fully or partly in an area under a declared disaster to be reimbursed for transportation of a meal or instructional materials to a student's residence or to a designated pickup location for the duration of the declared disaster.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action is cautiously neutral toward SB 462. Delivering meals and instructional materials to students during a large scale declared disaster could get very expensive very quickly. Despite our reservations we remain neutral based on the fiscal note.
