Bill Analysis

SB 239 would require the Department of State Health Services to use existing resources to develop and implement a disease prevention information system for dissemination of immunization information during a declared state of disaster or local state of disaster. During this disaster, the department would be required to ensure that educational materials regarding immunizations are available to local health authorities for distribution to public schools, child-care facilities, local health care providers, veterans homes, and community centers. The educational materials must include the most recent immunization schedules by age, and locations for local health care providers that offer immunizations.

Vote Recommendation Notes

No liberty principles are impacted by SB 239 so Texas Action remains neutral.
