Relating to training for county election officers.

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

SB 231 would mandate that the secretary of state shall provide a standardized training program and materials for county election officers in the same manner it provides such a program to election judges and clerks.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas action supports SB 231 because it improves the government's ability to carry out its lawful duties without infringing on the rights of its citizens.  Standardized training for county election officers will help to improve election integrity by ensuring all county election officers are better prepared to effectively manage Texas elections.
