Bill Analysis

SB 1776 would require any district and charter school to permit and encourage the open display of America's founding documents, including the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution, Federalist Papers, and other writings from the Founding Fathers. Additionally, it would require all district and charter schools to provide a one-half elective credit on the founding principles of the United States.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports SB 1776 as it would provide students a crucial understanding of our nation's founding and the philosophical underpinnings of the principles of liberty and limited government.
