Bill Analysis

SB 1764 would allow a tax collector to adopt a written policy to require payment of delinquent taxes, penalties, interest, and costs and expenses on certain seized property or property subject to a tax sale to be paid with a cashier's check, certified check, of electronic funds transfer. 

Vote Recommendation Notes

SB 1764 is an attempt to prevent delinquent property tax owners from issuing hot checks or disputing credit card payments which may potentially delay a tax sale.
