Bill Caption

Relating to certification and examination requirements for persons engaged in liquefied petroleum gas activities.

Fiscal Notes

The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined because the number of applicants who may choose to take the Propane Education and Research Council training rather than the training offered by the Railroad Commission is unknown.

Bill Analysis

SB 1668 would allow the Railroad Commission of Texas to waive license requirements for an cylinder filling certificate applicant who has completed training under guidelines established by the Propane Education and Research Council (PERC), followed the required application procedures and has completed a RRC approved cylinder filling examination.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports SB 1668 as this bill would limit government regulation and increase individual liberty.
