Bill Caption

Relating to the regulation of nurse aides; requiring an occupational registration.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

SB 1103 would make administrative updates with respect to already required certification and listing of nurse aides in the Nurse Aide Registry. The executive commissioner of HHSC would adopt rules for the issuance and renewal of a certificate of registration and the regulation of nurse aides as necessary to protect the public health and safety.

Vote Recommendation Notes

SB 1103 makes updates to existing regulations but does not appear to add meaningful new regulation to nurses aides. Therefore, Texas Action is neutral on SB 1103.
