Bill Caption

Condemning racism against Asian Americans.

Bill Analysis

HR 538 would resolve the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas Legislature to strongly condemn and denounce anti-Asian bigotry, racism, and all hateful speech and violent action related to COVID-19 and would urge the federal, state, and local law enforcement officials to investigate and document all credible reports of hate crimes, incidents, and threats against the Asian American community in Texas.

Vote Recommendation Notes

All bigotry, racism, and hate is wrong and destructive and deserves to be called out as such. Because this declaration expresses a sentiment but does not actually affect our liberty principles, Texas Action remains neutral.
