Bill Analysis

HB 918 would allow certain individuals who are 18 years of age or older and protected by certain court orders to obtain a special license to carry a handgun even though they otherwise do not meet the age-based eligibility requirement for such a license.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports HB 918 on the principle of individual liberty. The bill aids both the individual's liberty and freedom to exercise their Second amendment rights.
