Bill Caption

Relating to the establishment of an advisory committee for the TexNet seismic monitoring program.

Fiscal Notes

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 632 would create a TexNet seismic advisory committee to make recommendations on how to direct research and equipment to study seismic activity along with ensuring transmission of data to the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology database. Such a committee has previously been created by the legislature and since expired. This bill would reconstitute the committee.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Reconstituting this committee does not appear to conflict with our liberty principles and we remain neutral on HB 632.
