Bill Analysis

HB 4579 would revise and update the authority and duties of the Lubbock Reese Development Authority.

Vote Recommendation Notes

The Lubbock Reese Development Authority is an existing special purpose district created by the legislature to redevelop and repurpose Reece Airforce Base after it was closed by the federal government through the Base Closure And Realignment process. This bill does not create a new special purpose district and does not appear to expand the Authority's activities beyond the purpose for which it was originally created. For these reasons, Texas Action remains neutral on HB 4579.
