Relating to the disposition of surplus traffic and roadwork safety equipment by the Department of Public Safety and Texas Department of Transportation.
Estimated two-year net impact to general revenue related funds for HB 4026, as introduced: a negative impact of ($4,000,000) through the biennium ending August 31, 2023.
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill.
HB 4026 would allow the Department of Public Safety and Department of Transportation Surplus Property to directly donate or sell at a discounted rate surplus traffic and roadwork safety equipment, including lights and safety flags, to a political subdivision of this state.
The revenue from any sale of equipment shall be deposited to the credit of the Department of Public Safety or Texas Department of Transportation and may be appropriated only to the applicable department.
