Bill Analysis

HB 3906 would revise and update certain aspects of filing required reports with the Texas Ethics Commission including updating the method of submitting a report electronically to be more consistent with modern technology. The bill allows certain reports to be typed or filled out in blue or black ink. The bill would require an individual who makes a mistake or omission when filing information to the commission to include with any corrections an affidavit stating the mistake or omission was made in good faith, in order for a complaint against the individual to be dismissed. The bill would resolve several conflicts in statute that have been created unintentionally as the statute has been added to over the years.
