HB 3682 is a bracketed bill which would allow the City of Baytown to use revenue from the municipal hotel occupancy tax for the promotion of tourism by the enhancement and upgrading of an existing sports facility or field.
Texas Action opposes HB 3682 which expands the use of a hotel occupancy tax for economic development purposes for the benefit of private businesses. This is inconsistent with the principles of limited government and free markets.
