Bill Analysis

HB 3081 would allow the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission to implement rules allowing for digital wildlife tags to be issued to the holder of a hunting license and allow for hunters using a digital tag to create a digital record at the time of the taking of an animal that includes information required by the department.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports HB 3081 on the principle of individual liberty. Allowing hunters to tag wildlife as conveniently as possible enhances the liberty of hunters to use modern means of tracking and reporting their game harvests.
