Relating to the operation and regulation of certain automated motor vehicles.

Bill Analysis

HB 3026 would exempt automated vehicles operated by an automated driving system from certain state vehicle equipment laws and or regulations that relate to or support motor vehicle operation by a human driver and are not relevant for an automated driving system.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports HB 3026 which uplifts our limited government principle by exempting automated vehicles from certain laws and regulations that are irrelevant and would only serve to unnecessarily increase costs for those vehicles.
