Bill Caption

Relating to certain grounds for the involuntary termination of the parent-child relationship.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 2924 would prohibit a court from terminating a parent-child relationship on the basis of the parent having had a different parent-child relationship terminated for certain Family Code violations.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports HB 2924 because it would bolster a parent’s presumption of right over their children and limit the basis for which government has discretion to terminate parent-child relationships. This supports our principles of limited government and individual liberty.
