Fiscal Notes

Bill Analysis

HB 2740 would require state agencies that issue a license to post on the agency's website a list of the licenses issued with a description of the type of business or occupation covered by each license; and a description of the provisions of this chapter that are available to military service members, military veterans, and military spouses.

This would be posted prominently on the home page of the agency's website or on a single page of the agency's website with a prominent link to that page on the home page.

HB 2740 would further require these agencies to provide a direct link to the information to the Texas Veterans Commission which shall post the links on a single page on the Texas Veterans Portal.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports HB 2740 which is consistent with our limited government and individual liberty principles because it would increase transparency and reduce the obscurity of information related to occupational licensure.
