Relating to the tracking and analysis of evidence of a sexual

HB 2555 would require that the state-wide tracking system for reports of sexual assault include all evidence collected in relation to a
sexual assault or other sex offense, regardless of whether evidence
of the offense is collected in relation to an individual who is
alive or not. The bill also requires that the Department of Public Safety submit a report to the legislature and leadership identifying the number of evidence collection kits that have not yet been submitted for analysis or have not yet
been completed.
Texas Action is neutral toward HB 2555.
