Bill Analysis

HB 2343 would allow the Department of Public Safety to purchase food for personnel who are activated to respond to an emergency, incident, or disaster and are unable to leave or are required to remain at their post due to the event they are responding to.

Vote Recommendation Notes

While it is important for DPS to be able to feed personnel working long hours responding to an emergency, incident, or disaster, this bill does not specifically address any of our liberty principles. For this reason we remain neutral on HB 2343.
