Bill Analysis

HB 2321 would require the signature verification committee for early ballots voted by mail to compare the signature on each carrier envelope certificate with each signature of the voter obtained from the Department of Public Safety and on file with the county clerk or voter registrar. 

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports HB 2321 because it espouses the limited government and individual liberty principles by protecting Texas elections. This bill would enact additional security to Texas elections by increasing the standards of signature verification on absentee ballots.
