Bill Analysis

HB 2305 would update the terms and practices related to the structure and operations of the Texas Real Estate Research Center. The bill also would increase real estate broker and sales agent licensing fees, as well as certification fees, by charging a real estate broker or sales agent each year of the term for which the license is issued or renewed.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action opposes HB 2305 because it violates the limited government and free market principles. The state should not be in the business of nickel and diming individuals with increased licensing fees.
