No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. 

Bill Analysis

HB 2287 would expand the data collection duties of the Collaborative Task Force on Public School Mental Health Services to include 1) certain mental health services and trainings provided annually by public school districts and open-enrollment charter schools, 2) the number of individuals who were expelled or placed in a disciplinary alternative education program or out-of-school suspension, 3) the number of conducted threat assessments, 4) other topics as determined by the task force.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action opposes HB 2287, it is not the job of limited government to be tracking data on student mental health.
