Bill Analysis

HB 2132 adds the National Hot Rod Association Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex to the list of events eligible for funding under the Major Events Reimbursement Program.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action is opposed to HB 2132 because it violates limited government and free market principles. This bill would add another event to the reimbursement program, through which it may receive public funds to subsidize events. A more limited government approach would be to eliminate the fund altogether and increase economic prosperity through lower spending and taxes, and less regulation.
