Bill Analysis

Current law requires drivers to move over and slow down for a number of specific types of vehicles. HB 2048 would add to that list by requiring that drivers vacate the lane next to, or slow down 20 mph slower than the posted speed limit, when passing a vehicle operated by a toll project that has certain required visual signals.

Vote Recommendation Notes

HB 2048 does not impact our liberty principles so Texas Action remains neutral.
