Bill Caption

Relating to a database of information about women with uterine fibroids and to uterine fibroid education and research.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 1967 would require the Department of State Health Services to establish and maintain an electronic database for information surrounding uterine fibroids. The database would not include any personally identifying information and would be confidential to be used for uterine fibroid research. The department would disseminate this information and post on its website general information about demographic statistics and treatment options.

Vote Recommendation Notes

HB 1967 grows the government beyond its proper role. This is a function better left to the private medical field and nonprofit charitable organizations.
