Bill Caption

Relating to the offense of possessing a weapon in a secured area of an airport.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 1920 expands the definition of "secure area" to include certain federally-controlled areas at commercial airports in Texas, thus prohibiting the carrying of a firearm in those locations.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action is neutral toward HB 1920. The bill appears to sufficiently protect the lawful carry of firearms in non-secure areas regularly used by members of the public, as well as General Aviation areas.
