Bill Analysis

HB 1558 would require the department of housing and community affairs to include in their point system used to determine preference of an applicant for a low-income housing tax credit, an application of a development that is or will be located not more than two miles from a veterans hospital and is in a county with a population between 1 and 4 million people.

HB 1558 would amend current law to create a preference of certain tax credits for low-income housing developments located in Garland, TX. Texas Action remains neutral on HB 1558.
