Bill Analysis

HB 1488 would establish that a state agency is not required to submit a report to the legislature after the 10th anniversary of the date of their first submitted report. This would place a statutory limit on reporting requirements to prevent unnecessary indefinite reporting.

Vote Recommendation Notes

It is important that state agencies remain accountable to the legislature, but it is also important not to saddle agencies with indefinite reporting requirements which may become obsolete or unnecessary over time. This bill does not appear to conflict with our liberty principles and we remain neutral.
