Relating to the use of remote technology when conducting probate or guardianship proceedings.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 1447 would permit probate and guardianship proceedings to be conducted through remote technology, including teleconference and videoconference. A court that conducts a probate or guardianship proceeding through remote technology would have to ensure that the public maintains access and provide conduct guidelines to the parties.
Texas Action is neutral on HB 1447 as it does not touch directly upon any of our Liberty Principles. However this bill does appear to promote sound public policy.
