HB 1403 would permit the sentences for any combination of eligible criminal offenses, including intoxication manslaughter, child sexual abuse, child pornography, and trafficking, to be run consecutively rather than concurrently.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action is neutral on HB 1403 because it does not significantly affect any of our Liberty Principles. The punishment in this case would still be proportional to the crime.
