Bill Analysis

HB 1374 would strengthen the confidentiality of disclosures made by sexual assault victims to a victim advocate. In certain proceedings, survivors would have the privilege to refuse to disclose and prevent others from disclosing any confidential information. An unauthorized disclosure of a portion of information would not waive the survivor’s privilege except under certain circumstances.
