Bill Caption

Relating to the preparedness for extreme weather emergencies of facilities that provide electricity service.

Bill Analysis

HB 11 requires power generation facilities to better prepare for extreme weather events, minimize power outages and not neglect rural and low income communities.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action does not take any stance on HB 11 as it does not impact our liberty principles. While we opposed similar legislation in the Senate, we felt their version was too proscriptive and added too many fines and penalties, whereas HB 11 doesn't include these provisions.
