Bill Analysis

HB 1171 would permit a court to appoint an attorney or guardian to represent an unborn child in a proceeding in which a pregnant minor is seeking a court order to receive abortion services. The Attorney General would be required to maintain a registry of attorneys or others who volunteer to serve in that capacity.
