Bill Analysis

HB 1144 would require training on suicide prevention, mental health, substance abuse, positive relationships, grief and trauma for educators in district or charter schools be taught at least once every two years.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action is opposed to HB 1144 on the principle of limited government. These regular trainings would be an exhausting undertaking and are unnecessary to mandate state-wide.
