Relating to judicial review of certain workers’ compensation disputes.

Bill Analysis

This bill would extend the filing deadline for a judicial review of a labor compensation dispute from 45 to 60 days.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action recommends supporting this bill because it promotes the principle of individual liberty. The Office of Injured Employee Counsel recommended this specific change in their biennial report so that injured employees are not so constrained to contract an attorney and file a request for judicial review within a period of time which is in many cases insufficient.
