Relating to authorizing an exemption for open-enrollment charter schools from certain municipal drainage requirements.
According to the Legislative Budget Board, no fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 674 would clarify existing law which allows municipalities to exempt governmental entities from fees relating to municipal drainage systems. It would explicitly state that public, open-enrollment charter schools are eligible for such exemption.
Texas Action remains neutral as it does not affect our liberty principles. While we remain neutral because of the lack of connection to a liberty principle we do note this appears to be sensible public policy.
