Bill Analysis

SB 642 would add a municipality with a population of 200,000 to 225,000 and a public improvement district relating to hotels to the common characteristic necessary for municipalities to confer a special benefit on the area. In effect, this bill would allow the City of Irving to create a tourism public improvement district.

Texas Action is neutral on SB 642 because it is a local bill and does not violate any of our liberty principles.
