Relating to the enforcement of commercial motor vehicle safety
standards in certain municipalities.

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
SB 636 would allow police officers of municipalities with a population of less than
75,000 that are located in three counties, at least one of which with a population greater than 3.3 million, to apply for certification to enforce commercial vehicle safety standards. This would effectively allow peace officers in Katy, Texas, to enforce these standards.
