Bill Analysis

SB 636 would allow police officers of municipalities with a population of less than 75,000 that are located in three counties, at least one of which with a population greater than 3.3 million, to apply for certification to enforce commercial vehicle safety standards. This would effectively allow peace officers in Katy, Texas, to enforce these standards.
