Relating to the Nueces River Authority, following recommendations
of the Sunset Advisory Commission.
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 625 is the sunset review bill for the Nueces River Authority. The bill would extended the authority's operations until 2031 and would institute a number of recommendations put forth by the Sunset Commission, such as making the president of the board appointed by the Governor as opposed to elected by the board, and creating new policies regarding required training, dispute resolution, and hearings.
Texas Action remains neutral on SB 625 as it does not affect our liberty principles.
