Estimated Two-year Net Impact to General Revenue Related Funds for SB 619, Committee Report 2md House, Substituted: an impact of $0 through the biennium ending August 31, 2021. The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill.
SB 619 is a sunset review bill for a multitude of state commissions and governmental entities, including the Department of Criminal Justice, the Juvenile Justice Department and the Public Utility Commission in addition to many others. The bill mostly only deals with extending the sunset review dates of the entities, although some entities do see minor administrative changes as recommended by the Sunset Advisory Commission. The bill also stipulates that certain communications between the Sunset Commission and state agencies under review, and internal agency communications related to sunset review, are confidential.
Texas Action is neutral on SB 619 because it does not affect our liberty principles.
