Bill Caption

Relating to the continuation and functions of the State Office of Risk Management.

Fiscal Notes

According to the Legislative Budget Board, no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. It is assumed that the provisions of the bill relating to the continuation and functions of the State Office of Risk Management could be absorbed using existing resources.

Bill Analysis

SB 612 would continue the State Office of Risk Management (SORM), which is subject to abolition under the Sunset Act this year. It would also adopt some recommendations made by the Sunset Advisory Commission to maximize resources and reduce costs.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action recommends supporting SB 612 because it promotes limited government. It is responsible to keep the risk management program reviewed and updated, as well as make practical and effective use of resources.
