Bill Analysis

SB 479 would add the medical schools at The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley to the Joint Admission Medical Program, which provides qualified low-income students with financial and academic support for medical school. Dell Medical School would also be added to the list of institutions eligible for funding from the permanent health fund for higher education.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on SB 479 because it does not affect our liberty principles.
